Ana Roldán (* 1977 México DF) vive y trabaja en Zurich, Suiza. Después de estudiar historia en la ENAH, México, estudió bellas artes en HKB de Berna de 1999 a 2003. En el mismo año, comenzó a mostrar su trabajo en conocidas instituciones como por ejemplo, Zürich Kunsthalle, el Kunstmuseum de Berna y Solothurn Kunstmuseum. En 2005, conceden a Roldán una subvención de la Oficina Federal Suiza de la cultura, así como una residencia en París. En 2006 y 2007 ganó dos premios y exhibió en Francia, Alemania, Inglaterra, México, Colombia, Brasil, Polonia, los Países Bajos, España y China. En 2008, Roland trabajó durante un año en Kunming, China, invitada por las ciudades de Zurich y Kunming. Otros dos premios se le otorgaron en 2009 y 2010.Exposiciones importantes incluyen soloshows en Badischer Kunstverein y la Kunsthaus en Langenthal en 2011, así como groupshows en el Witte de With de Rotterdam 2012 y la participación en Lulennial en México en 2015.Su trabajo está inspirado en los fenómenos culturales: Los acontecimientos históricos, ideas filosóficas, el lenguaje, los sistemas, las reflexiones sobre la estética; conceptos teóricos en general. Roldán está interesada en cómo los espectadores pueden ser estimulados físicamente así como intelectualmente a través de la oposición o el desplazamiento de los sistemas mencionados. Ana Roldán trabaja en diversos medios como performance, escultura, instalación, vídeo y collage. A menudo emplea materiales naturales tales como el coco, bambú, madera, piedras semipreciosas o de cuero que reflejan el origen y el uso de los materiales en los cultivos investigados.
