Marta de Gonzalo (Madrid, 1971) and Publio Pérez Prieto (Mérida, 1973) have lived and worked in Madrid since 1996, after meeting at the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. They understand cultural production as a poetic and formal instrument of representation that gives rise to both personal and collective critical attitudes. They are secondary school teachers and engage in artistic reflection and practice focused on audiovisual literacy and critical pedagogies. They are also involved in training teachers and artists, as well as leading self-representation projects with young people.
They have exhibited at TinBox Gallery and TnBA (Bordeaux), Museo Patio Herreriano (Valladolid), Intermediae Matadero (Madrid), Fundació "la Caixa" (Lleida), Fundació Espais (Girona), MediaLab (Madrid), and MEIAC (Badajoz). They have participated in group exhibitions at C.C.M. Haroldo Conti (Buenos Aires), Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (Seville), LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial (Gijón), ZKM Museum für Neue Kunst (Karlsruhe), Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, Instituto Cervantes in Beijing, Le Commissariat (Paris), Koldo Mitxelena Kulturunea (San Sebastián), and Galerie Art & Essai (Rennes), among others.
Their audiovisual works have been shown at the Mostra Internacional de Films de Dones (Barcelona), Zinebi (Bilbao), various branches of the Instituto Cervantes, the Filmoteca de Andalucía (Córdoba), and the Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid).
Between 1999 and 2003, they were part of the collective project Circo Interior Bruto. They directed the Injuve Residencies for Young Artists (2005–2007) and are members of Las Lindes, a research and action group on education, art, and cultural practices based at CA2M (Móstoles).
