She earned a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo in 2015 and a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona in 1986. She was awarded grants at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris in 1990 and 1991, and at the Spanish Academy in Rome in 1992 and 1993. Other grants she received include the Banesto Grant in Madrid in 1990 and the Unión Fenosa Grant in A Coruña in 1991. She received awards such as the Eixo Atlántico, Atlantic Forum of Contemporary Art in Porto in 1996, and the Galician Culture Award in 2017 in the visual arts category, granted by the Xunta de Galicia.
Among her solo exhibitions are: "Pasos (Un debuxo)", a project for the Double Space at CGAC, Santiago de Compostela, in 1997; Expansión ensayo at CGAC in 2017, curated by David Barro; "Verquidos", curated by Miquel Mont at Casa da Parra, Santiago de Compostela, in 2014; and “Enteiramente pintado: rexistros dun percorrido vital” at Pazo Torrado, Cambados, in 2019, curated by Juan de Nieves.
She exhibited at Galería Trinta in Santiago de Compostela, Galería Antonio Barnola in Barcelona, and participated in group exhibitions such as “Cuatro de España” at Scott Alan Gallery, New York, in 1988; “Los artistas de La Cité des Arts”, Paris, in 1991; “A la Pintura”, Argentaria Collection, Madrid, in 1995; “Dibujos Germinales” at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, in 1998; and “Insistir en el mateix, tornar sobre una presència suggerida” at EACC, Castelló, in 2019, curated by Ángel Calvo Ulloa.
Her work is included in collections such as the La Caixa Collection in Barcelona, the Galician Centre for Contemporary Art in Santiago de Compostela, the Bank of Spain Collection in Madrid, the María Jove Foundation, and the AENA Collection.
